CertainTeed Construction in San Antonio, TX | Sawyer Remodel San Antonio

We’re Sawyer Remodel San Antonio, a San Antonio General Contractor and independent CertainTeed installer serving homeowners across the area. If your CertainTeed roof or siding is failing, we’ll diagnose it, price it in writing, and fix it right. The thing that sets us apart here? We know how San Antonio’s expansive clay soil movement racks roof trusses and unseals shingle tabs, and we correct both the surface damage and the structural twist behind it. Why San Antonio Residents Choose Us for CertainTeed Service

A remodeled living room with built-in shelves around the fireplace

CertainTeed products are all over this city. Drive through Timberwood Park or the older brick-veneer streets of Kirby and you’ll spot Landmark shingles, Cedar Impressions shakes, and Monogram siding on thousands of homes. We’ve been working on these products since before most of our clients bought their houses. Luca Romano, our owner, grew up in East Los Angeles and learned the trade at LA Trade-Technical College before spending decades on roofs and siding across the Southwest. He still does the final walkthrough on every CertainTeed job we finish in San Antonio.

We’re not factory reps. We don’t wear CertainTeed badges or push one product line no matter what. We’re independent installers who see how these materials actually perform here, in this heat, on this soil. That means we spec genuine CertainTeed shingles and siding when color-matching and warranty coverage matter, but we’ll also use UV-stabilized aftermarket flashing and fasteners rated for San Antonio summers when they’re the better call. The price gets written down before we touch anything. The crew shows up in uniform, background-checked, with a live arrival time you can actually track.

Common CertainTeed Construction Problems We Solve in San Antonio

  • Granule loss and cracking on Landmark shingles after hailstorms. San Antonio’s spring hail doesn’t just dent. It strips granules from Landmark shingles, and the thermal shock of a 100-degree day after a hailstorm causes cracking that most roofers never look for. We do.
  • Warped Cedar Impressions shakes on gable ends. In unvented attics that hit 140°F in July, those polymer shakes warp and pull away from the wall. We see it constantly in older Alamo Heights-area homes where attic ventilation was never upgraded.
  • Buckled Monogram siding on west-facing walls. Slab heave from expansive clay shifts wall planes, and those butt joints buckle. It’s not a siding defect. It’s a foundation problem showing up in the siding.
  • FlintBoard foam sheathing crumbling at grade. Irrigation overspray hits alkaline soil, wicks up behind stucco, and the foam sheathing disintegrates at the bottom edge. That compromises the entire drainage plane.
  • Unsealed shingle tabs along ridge and hip lines. Even on 10-year-old roofs, we see tabs release along the ridge. The cause isn’t adhesive failure. It’s truss racking from soil movement underneath the house.

CertainTeed Service in San Antonio: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment

Here’s the thing most national CertainTeed pages won’t tell you: San Antonio’s northwest side, especially Alamo Ranch and Helotes, has the highest concentration of “roller coaster” slabs in Texas. The Montell clay under those neighborhoods expands and contracts so aggressively that foundations move up to 3 inches seasonally. That movement doesn’t stay in the slab. It travels up through the framing, racks the roof trusses, and twists the roof plane. CertainTeed shingles are tough, but no shingle can hold its seal when the deck beneath it shifts. We see Landmark tabs unsealed along ridges and hips on roofs that should have another decade of life left. That’s the San Antonio problem no out-of-town roofer understands: fix the shingles without addressing the structural movement and you’ll be back on the same roof in three years.

CertainTeed Models & Products We Service in San Antonio

We work on CertainTeed Landmark shingles, Cedar Impressions shakes, Monogram vinyl siding, and FlintBoard insulation. Our parts approach is simple: genuine CertainTeed for anything that affects color match or warranty, aftermarket UV-stabilized flashing and fasteners where heat performance matters more than brand stamping. We stock common CertainTeed accessories in our San Antonio shop so most repairs don’t wait on a distributor truck. Roof repair, full roof replacement, siding repair, storm damage response. We repair before we replace, unless the decking is shot or the product line is discontinued. Then we quote a full tear-off with Landmark or Cedar Impressions alternatives. CertainTeed Service Pricing in San Antonio

A whole-home remodel with the living, dining and kitchen areas opened up

Here are the numbers, so you know your ballpark before you call.

Service San Antonio Price Range
Roof Replacement $8,000 – $20,000
Roof Repair $400 – $1,800
Metal Roof Installation $15,000 – $40,000

Roof repair cost depends on damage extent, how much decking is compromised, and whether the slope is walkable. A three-tab patch on a simple ranch in Kirby runs toward the bottom of the repair range. A hail-damaged Landmark roof on a two-story Alamo Ranch home with twisted trusses runs toward the top of the replacement range, because we’re correcting both roof and structural issues-similar to what we address with full Bathroom Remodeling in San Antonio. Estimates are free and written. Call (432) 547-6806.
