Caesarstone Home Additions & ADU: The San Antonio Owner’s Guide
Adding a Caesarstone-finished home addition or ADU in San Antonio typically runs $45,000 to $130,000 for a permitted, turnkey build. That range covers foundation work through countertop fabrication, backsplash, and final inspection. Most owners don’t discover a “part failure” here the way they would with a leaking faucet: the signs show up during planning, when the existing slab, framing, or utility rough-in won’t support what you want. In our experience, the call usually starts with, “We bought Caesarstone slabs for a new kitchen, but the room doesn’t exist yet.”

We stock and install Caesarstone-compatible surfaces for ADUs and additions across San Antonio, from Alamo Heights guest suites to garage conversions in Stone Oak. Sawyer Remodel San Antonio is an independent contractor, not a Caesarstone affiliate; we spec, cut, and install their quartz on builds we run from dirt to doorknobs.
Which Caesarstone Models This Applies To

Caesarstone’s quartz lines carry different thickness profiles, and that matters more on an ADU than a cosmetic kitchen refresh. The Classic and Supernatural series run 20mm and 30mm slabs; most of our San Antonio ADU counters go in at 30mm because the thicker slab lets you run an overhang for bar seating without adding a visible support bracket. The Metropolitan and Pebble lines are often priced per square foot lower, but availability on specific colors shifts quarterly, and lead time on a slab your designer picked from a 2022 catalog can stretch 6 to 10 weeks if it’s been discontinued.
How to identify what you’re working with: look for the branded stamp on the slab’s unfinished edge, or the fabrication label from the original install. If you bought the slab yourself and it’s still wrapped, the SKU starts with a series code (e.g., 5xxx for Supernatural). The honest OEM-vs-aftermarket line: there is no aftermarket “Caesarstone part” to swap in. The product is the slab. The parts that fail on a home addition are the substrate, the seam adhesive, the edge profile, and the support structure under the counters. On our jobs, those come from names we trust (Integra adhesives, Schluter edge profiles), and the Caesarstone slab itself carries the manufacturer’s warranty.

Signs Your Caesarstone Home Additions & ADU Is Failing
- Seam separation at the joint. Texas heat cycles expand and contract quartz at a different rate than the cabinet substrate below it. If you can catch a fingernail on a seam that used to be flush, the adhesive is letting go, usually because the cabinet deck wasn’t leveled before install.
- Hairline cracks radiating from a sink cutout. This is the classic failure on a San Antonio ADU. The fabricator leaves too little material between the cutout and the slab edge, or the sink is top-mounted with no support rail. Once a crack starts, it runs.
- Counter overhang flexing or creaking. If the bar overhang moves when you lean on it, the substrate isn’t carrying the load. Caesarstone at 30mm still needs a bracket or corbel every 24 to 30 inches on anything past 10 inches of overhang.
- Water staining or dark rings that never dry. Quartz isn’t porous like granite, but a bad seam or a cracked edge profile lets water into the cabinet deck. By the time the stain shows, the underside is probably swollen and soft.
- Counter sits visibly out of level. Put a 4-foot level across the counter. A quarter-inch slope over four feet means the install was shimmed, not corrected. On a brand-new ADU, that’s a framing or cabinet problem, not a slab problem, and it gets worse.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For a full home addition or ADU with Caesarstone surfaces in San Antonio, plan $45,000 to $130,000. At the low end, you’re looking at a modest bump-out or garage conversion with a single 10-foot run of Caesarstone in the new kitchenette. At the high end, we’re talking a detached ADU with foundation, framing, full bath, kitchen, and 40-plus square feet of fabricated quartz. Countertop fabrication and install alone, as a piece of that larger number, runs $2,000 to $6,500 depending on slab linear footage, edge profile, and seam count.
What’s included on our jobs: tear-out and haul-off of existing surfaces, cabinet deck leveling, slab template and fabrication, undermount sink prep, seam adhesive, edge profile, and a written workmanship warranty on the install. The Caesarstone manufacturer warranty covers the slab itself. You get a line-item price before we cut anything, so the number you approve is the number on the invoice.
DIY or Call Us?
You can check a failing counter yourself: run a level, press down on the overhang, run your thumbnail along every seam. That tells you what’s wrong. Fixing it is a different animal. Pulling a quartz slab without cracking it, re-leveling cabinets, re-cutting an edge profile, and glueing a seam that stays invisible takes a fabricator’s tools and a steady hand. If the failure traces back to framing or a sagging substrate inside a new addition, you’re into structural territory you don’t want to guess at.
Our crew rolls into San Antonio with the right shims, the right adhesives, and a template tool that measures to the sixteenth. If you want a real look at what’s failing and what it costs to fix, call (432) 547-6806.
FAQs

Caesarstone quartz should last 20 to 30 years or more if the substrate is level, the seams were done right, and the edge profile stays sealed. Texas heat shortens the life of the adhesive, not the stone, so a seam re-glue at year 12 to 15 is common. Call (432) 547-6806 for a seam inspection.
Hairline cracks in a low-stress area can sometimes be filled and color-matched, but a crack running from a sink cutout or across a seam almost always means replacement. Repairs buy time; they don’t restore the structural strength of a 30mm slab. Get an honest read at (432) 547-6806.
Most permitted San Antonio additions and ADUs we build run 3 to 7 months from permit to final walkthrough. A garage conversion with a simple kitchenette runs shorter; a detached ADU with new utilities runs longer. We give you the timeline in writing before dirt moves.
We don’t warehouse slabs, but we order direct from local Caesarstone fabricators and distributors in the San Antonio market. Typical lead time on an in-stock color is 1 to 2 weeks. Discontinued colors can run 6 weeks or more, and we’ll tell you before you commit.
