Moen Roofing: The San Antonio Owner’s Guide
We stock and install Moen-compatible roofing components throughout San Antonio, with most replacements running $400 to $1,800 fully installed depending on the part and roof access. Our trucks carry the most common Moen-series flashings, vents, and trim pieces, so many jobs are done in a single visit. Most homeowners discover a problem the same way: a water stain on the ceiling after a hard rain, or a missing shingle tab flapping within sight of the driveway.

Here’s the thing about roofing parts that carry a Moen nameplate or Moen-series spec: the failure is rarely the part itself. It’s the seal around it. San Antonio heat cycles bake flashing tar and rubber gaskets until they crack, then a September downpour finds the gap. We see it in Alamo Heights, Stone Oak, and Helotes every week.
Which Moen Models This Applies To

Moen’s roofing line splits into three series: the Standard Series (builder-grade vents, pipe collars, and ridge caps), the Pro Series (heavier-gauge aluminum flashings and wider flanges), and the Storm Series (reinforced for high-wind zones, which matters in Bexar County). Each series uses different flange widths and fastener patterns, so grabbing a Standard collar for a Pro Series penetration leaves you with exposed sealant and a leak within two years.
How to identify what you have: look for the stamped series code on the underside of the flange or the collar neck. Moen stamps every part, usually a two-letter prefix followed by four digits (example: PS-0421 is Pro Series, 4-inch, revision 21). If the stamp is gone, measure the penetration pipe diameter and the flange width. A 4-inch pipe with a 9-inch flange is Standard; an 11-inch flange is Pro. OEM parts are worth the money on Storm Series assemblies because the gasket material is UV-stabilized for Texas sun. Aftermarket equivalents work fine for most Standard Series swaps and cut cost by about 20 percent. We carry both, and we’ll tell you which one makes sense for your roof before we quote.
One gotcha we run into constantly in San Antonio: older Moen ridge vents installed before 2015 used a narrower baffle, and the current replacement won’t seat without trimming the existing deck opening. If your home was built before 2015 and still has the original ridge vent, plan on an extra half hour of labor for the retrofit. We don’t charge for surprises like that, by the way. The written price covers it.

Signs Your Moen Roofing Is Failing
- Water staining on the ceiling near a vent pipe. The rubber collar gasket has dried and cracked from UV exposure. In San Antonio, gaskets on west-facing roof slopes fail noticeably faster than east-facing ones. The sun here is unkind to rubber.
- Granules collecting in gutters below a roof penetration. The shingles around the Moen flashing are losing their protective layer faster than the surrounding field. This usually means the flashing edge is lifting and channeling water sideways across the shingle surface.
- A whistling sound during north winds. A ridge vent baffle has come loose or the end cap has separated. Moen ridge vents depend on continuous baffle tension, and once one section fails, the whole run loses negative-pressure flow.
- Visible rust stains running down from a pipe collar. The factory paint has worn through and the underlying steel is oxidizing. Once rust reaches the fastener holes, the collar loses its grip and the flashing can lift in a storm.
- Attic humidity spikes after rain. This one’s easy to miss. The Moen exhaust vent damper is stuck open or the housing seal has failed, letting rain straight into the insulation. You might not see a ceiling stain for months, but the moisture is already there.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

In San Antonio, expect to pay $400 – $1,800 for a Moen roofing part replacement, installed. Small pipe collars and basic vent caps run $400 – $700. Ridge vent sections and Pro Series flashings land in the $700 – $1,200 range. Full Storm Series replacements or jobs requiring deck repair can reach $1,800. The spread comes down to roof pitch, access (two-story homes in Terrell Hills cost more to service than a single-story ranch in Leon Valley), and whether the surrounding shingles are reusable.
Every quote includes the part, the labor, the removal and disposal of the old unit, new sealant, and the nail-and-seal pattern matched to the existing roof. We put the price in writing before any work starts, and that number is the number you pay. No change orders because we found something once the old part came off. If the repair fails within 365 days, we come back and make it right under our 365-Day Done Right Promise. That’s not a marketing line; it’s in writing on every job.

DIY or Call Us?
You can safely inspect your Moen roof parts from the ground with binoculars and from inside the attic with a flashlight. Look for cracked rubber, lifted flashing edges, and daylight showing through vent seams. That’s where DIY should end for most homeowners.
Roof work in San Antonio means walking on a hot, sometimes brittle surface, often at a pitch that punishes mistakes. The parts themselves are simple once you’re up there, but getting up there safely with the right sealant, the right fasteners, and the right fall protection is where homeowners get hurt. Luca Romano has been on roofs across the Southwest for decades, and even with that experience, every job starts with a safety check, not a step onto the ladder. If your part is compromised, call (432) 547-6806 and let us handle the roof. You stay on the ground, we’ll take the risk.
FAQs

Standard Series Moen parts typically last 12 to 15 years in Bexar County before the gaskets and sealant degrade, though west-facing slopes can fail in 8 to 10 years. Pro and Storm Series parts with UV-stabilized materials often hold up 18 to 22 years. San Antonio’s combination of intense sun and hard rain accelerates every rubber and sealant component on a roof.
Sometimes, but rarely for long. A minor crack in a pipe collar can be patched with a quality urethane sealant and get you another two or three years, and we’ll tell you honestly if that’s the better move for your budget. A failed flange seal or rusted fastener area should be replaced, not patched. If we patch it and it fails within a year, we replace it under the Done Right Promise anyway.
Most single-part replacements take 60 to 90 minutes once we’re on the roof. Ridge vent runs and jobs that require shingle removal around the flashing can take two to three hours. We’ll give you a time window before we arrive, and you get photo updates before and after the work so you can see exactly what was done.
Our trucks carry the most common Standard and Pro Series pipe collars, exhaust vent caps, and ridge vent sections for San Antonio homes. Storm Series components and less common ridge vent lengths are typically available from our local supplier within one business day. Call (432) 547-6806 with your part number, and we’ll confirm availability before we schedule the visit. The craft comes first. Everything else follows.
