Abodu Driveway & Pavers: The San Antonio Owner’s Guide
We stock and install Abodu-compatible driveway and paver components across San Antonio, with installed jobs typically landing between $7,000 and $18,000 depending on square footage, paver type, and how much of the existing base needs rebuilding. Most paver driveway repairs are done in one to two days once we’re on site. Owners usually find us after a section of pavers has sunk, shifted, or started separating at the edges – the classic San Antonio story is a driveway that looked fine through the dry season, then developed a low spot or a wobble after a heavy spring rain worked its way under the base.

Which Abodu Models This Applies To

Abodu’s driveway and paver systems show up on their accessory dwelling unit builds and on the site work packages that ship with the main structures. The key compatibility gotcha: Abodu specs paver bases at a tighter compaction standard than a lot of off-the-shelf San Antonio hardscape work, because the units sit on pier foundations and the surrounding grade has to drain away without eroding. If you’re matching existing pavers, check the underside of a loose unit for the manufacturer stamp – we see a lot of Calstone and Belgard product in Abodu site packages, but the color lot matters more than the brand. A paver pulled from a different dye lot will be close but visibly off in direct sun.
OEM Abodu-supplied pavers are standard dimensional units, not proprietary shapes, so a quality aftermarket match is usually achievable at a better price than reordering through the original site-work vendor. The exception is custom-cut border pieces or radius corners – those we fabricate on site from matching stock. Sawyer Remodel San Antonio is an independent service provider and not affiliated with Abodu, which means we’re free to spec the right material for the job rather than the default the original package came with.

Signs Your Abodu Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- Low spots that hold water after rain. This means the base underneath has settled or washed out. In San Antonio’s clay-heavy soil, freeze-thaw cycles aren’t the culprit – it’s usually poor drainage at the driveway edge letting water undercut the base.
- Pavers rocking or clicking when you walk on them. Individual units have lost contact with the bedding sand. That happens when the sand migrates out through a cracked edge restraint, and every step is slowly chewing up the paver’s bottom edge.
- Grass or weeds growing through joints in clusters. Isolated growth is normal. Patches of it mean the joint sand is gone and soil has worked in – a sign water is moving through the base instead of off the surface.
- Edge pavers separating from the border or spilling outward. The plastic or concrete edge restraint has failed. Once the edge lets go, the whole field starts to drift, and the repair grows with every car that rolls across it.
- Persistent moss or dark staining in a band across the driveway. That’s trapped moisture. It points to a low spot or a clogged drain path under the pavers, not a cleaning problem.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
A full paver driveway in San Antonio runs $7,000 to $18,000 installed, and a partial repair or section rebuild lands between $3,000 and $8,000 depending on how much base needs to come out. Good base prep is where the real money goes – the pavers themselves account for roughly a third of the total.
| Scope | San Antonio Price Range |
|---|---|
| Paver driveway, full install (new base, 2-car) | $7,000 – $18,000 |
| Section repair (base rebuild + paver reset) | $3,000 – $8,000 |
| Driveway replacement (remove + repave) | $5,000 – $14,000 |
| Edge restraint repair + joint sand restore | $800 – $2,500 |
Every quote we write is a fixed number in writing before we touch the driveway. That includes demolition, base material, paver product, edge restraint, joint sand, and labor. The 365-Day Done Right Promise covers the work for a full year – if a paver shifts or a low spot redevelops in that window, we come back and fix it without another invoice.

DIY or Call Us?
You can safely inspect the edges, check for ponding after a rain, and shoot us photos from your phone – that’s useful information that helps us price the repair before we even visit. What we don’t recommend is lifting and resetting pavers yourself unless you’ve done base work before. The paver part is easy. Getting the compacted base right so the same spot doesn’t sink again after the next San Antonio downpour is where weekends go to die. If the edge restraint has failed or the base has washed out, the fix isn’t cosmetic and it isn’t permanent until the subgrade is right. Call (432) 547-6806 and we’ll put an exact number on it – the estimate is free.
FAQs

With a properly compacted base and intact edge restraints, concrete pavers on a well-drained San Antonio driveway typically last 25 to 40 years before the units themselves need replacement. What fails sooner is almost always the base or the edge, not the paver. If the driveway drains poorly or the soil underneath shifts, expect to rebuild sections every 5 to 10 years until the drainage is addressed. Call (432) 547-6806 for an exact quote – estimates are free.
Section repairs are usually possible and cost between $3,000 and $8,000 in San Antonio, as long as the remaining base is still stable and the existing pavers are in reusable condition. The challenge is color matching – pavers fade in Texas sun, so a new batch parked next to ten-year-old units will read lighter. We do a dye-lot match and often feather new pavers in from the least visible edge so the transition isn’t obvious. Call (432) 547-6806 for a straight answer on your specific driveway.
Most section repairs and full driveway replacements in San Antonio are done in one to three working days once we start, depending on how much base excavation and regrading is required. Weather is the wildcard – heavy rain can pause compaction work for a day. We confirm who’s coming, when they arrive, and what it costs before any work begins. We stock standard dimensional pavers in the most common San Antonio colorways on our trucks and at our local supplier, which means most repairs start without a waiting period. Custom colors or specialty finishes add three to seven days for the order to land. The craft comes first. Everything else follows. Call (432) 547-6806 and we’ll tell you exactly what’s in stock today.
