Jerith Driveway & Pavers: The San Antonio Owner’s Guide
If you have a Jerith driveway gate or fence and a post, hinge, paver base, or gate frame component has failed, we stock and install Jerith-compatible parts across San Antonio. Installed replacement pricing for Jerith driveway gate hardware and surrounding paver work typically runs $450 – $2,800 depending on the part, and we can usually have a technician out within a day or two. Most owners discover the failure the same way: the gate starts dragging, a post leans, pavers near the gate track crack and sink, or the gate won’t close square against the latch. That’s a parts problem, not a whole-new-gate problem – and it’s one we solve directly.

Sawyer Remodel San Antonio is an independent service provider and parts installer. We’re not affiliated with Jerith, but we work with their aluminum and steel gate systems regularly because they’re all over San Antonio driveways, from Stone Oak to Alamo Heights to neighborhoods around Helotes.
Which Jerith Models This Applies To

Jerith makes ornamental aluminum driveway gates, fence panels, and the matching posts and hinge hardware. The compatibility gotcha most San Antonio owners hit: Jerith posts come in two internal dimensions, 2″ and 2.5″ square, and the hinge brackets are not interchangeable between them. Measure the post face before you buy anything. The model number is usually stamped on a label inside the gate frame near the bottom rail, but after a decade of Texas sun that label is often faded to nothing. Measure the gate leaf height and the post size and we’ll match the part from there.
OEM Jerith hinges and latch kits are well made, but they’re not always the smartest buy. The aluminum hinges corrode at the pin in San Antonio’s humidity-and-salt air mix, and OEM replacements cost roughly twice what a quality aftermarket stainless or powder-coated steel hinge costs. We’ll tell you which one makes sense for your gate. For load-bearing parts like hinge brackets and post caps, we lean toward aftermarket stainless. For latch and lock bodies, OEM is usually worth the money because the strike plate geometry is proprietary.

Signs Your Jerith Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- The gate drags or scrapes when you swing it. This usually means the hinge bearings or pin have worn out of round, which drops the leaf a half inch or more. Left alone, the drag wears the bottom rail and the pavers under it.
- A gate post leans toward the driveway. In San Antonio’s clay soil, the post footer shifts with wet-dry cycles. The post itself may be fine – the problem is the base, and that’s a paver and concrete repair, not a gate replacement.
- Pavers around the gate track crack or sink. Gate weight plus poor base compaction equals cracked pavers. We see this more in newer neighborhoods where builders skimped on the paver base.
- The latch doesn’t catch or the gate won’t stay closed. The strike plate loosens or the latch spring snaps. This is almost always a small parts fix, not a new gate.
- You hear a squeal or grind when opening the gate. That’s metal-on-metal from a dry or seized hinge pin. With aluminum gates, it’s often the first sign the pin is starting to oval out the hinge body.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

Here’s what Jerith driveway gate and paver work costs in San Antonio, parts and labor included:
- Single hinge or latch replacement: $450 – $700
- Full hinge and latch kit on a double gate: $900 – $1,600
- Post re-set with new concrete footer and paver base repair: $1,200 – $2,200
- Paver replacement around the gate track (up to 40 sq ft): $1,500 – $2,800
- Full paver driveway installation (new): $7,000 – $18,000
The range depends on the gate size, how much paver base has to be rebuilt, and whether the post footer is intact. You get a written price before we start, and the number on the invoice is the number you approved. Every Jerith part we install carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if it’s not right, we make it right, in writing.
DIY or Call Us?
Here’s the honest split. You can safely check the post size, measure the gate leaf, and see whether the pavers are cracked or just settled. What you shouldn’t do yourself: re-setting a gate post. A driveway gate leaf weighs 80 to 200 pounds, and that weight is under tension while the hinges are connected. If you pull the wrong hinge first, the gate drops and twists, and now you’ve bent a hinge bracket or cracked a paver run – or worse. We do this work with the gate supported and the tension off, which is the only way it should be done. Call (432) 547-6806 and we’ll walk you through what we see on a quick phone call before scheduling anything.
FAQs

Expect 8 to 15 years from the original aluminum hinges, less if the gate is heavy or the post footer has shifted. Salt air, humidity, and the clay soil that moves posts around all shorten that window. If your gate is past year ten and one hinge is shot, replace the full set rather than doing the second one six months later.
A cracked or sunk paver run around the gate track can usually be repaired with a spot base rebuild and new bedding sand. If the base was never compacted right in the first place, we’ll usually recommend pulling and redoing the whole gate-side paver section rather than patching it, because a patch on a bad base sinks again within a year or two. Call (432) 547-6806 for an exact assessment.
A hinge and latch swap takes 2 to 4 hours on site. A post re-set with paver repair runs a full day, sometimes a day and a half if the concrete has to cure before the gate goes back on. We’ll give you a straight answer before work starts so you’re not asking “where are they” mid-job.
We keep the common Jerith hinge sizes, latch bodies, and post caps in our San Antonio inventory, and we can source the rest within a day. We’ll tell you before we arrive which parts we’re bringing and which ones we may need to order. If you need parts for a KraftMaid cabinet, Cambria countertop, or Silestone surface, those are brands we work with daily too.
If your Jerith driveway gate or pavers are failing, don’t wait until the gate won’t close or a paver becomes a trip hazard. Call (432) 547-6806 for a free estimate. We’ll give you a written price, show up when we say we will, and leave the work done right the first time. The craft comes first. Everything else follows.
