Toto Bathroom Remodeling: The San Antonio Owner’s Guide
A full Toto bathroom remodel in San Antonio typically runs $9,000 to $28,000 installed, depending on whether you’re replacing a single failing fixture or gutting the room to the studs. We stock Toto-compatible parts and finish materials on our trucks, and we can usually match your existing model the same day we inspect it. Most San Antonio homeowners call us after a toilet starts running constantly, a washlet seat stops heating, or a tub spout diverter gives out mid-shower.

You don’t need to know the part number before you call. You need someone who can walk into the bathroom, read the label inside the tank or under the seat, and tell you what failed and what it costs to fix or replace. That’s the job.
Which Toto Models This Applies To

Toto splits its lineup into a few series that share internal parts but not always. The Drake, Drake II, Ultramax, and Entrada toilets use different flush valves and fill valves depending on whether they’re 1.28 or 1.6 gallons per flush. The washlet seats – C100, C200, K300, and the newer S7A – have different heating elements and filter cartridges, and they are not interchangeable across series. If you have a Toto tub, the cast versions from the Cast Iron line take different drain assemblies than the acrylic models, and the overflow gaskets simply don’t swap between them.
OEM Toto parts carry the brand’s exact tolerances, which matters for flush valve seals and washlet filters. Quality aftermarket equivalents exist – Fluidmaster makes a reliable Toto-compatible fill valve, for example – but we tell San Antonio homeowners the truth: some aftermarket seals fail in the city’s hard water within two years, while the OEM seal lasts five or more. We stock both and quote both, so the choice is yours with the price in front of you.
The quickest way to identify your model is to lift the tank lid and read the printed label on the underside, or check the serial number sticker under the washlet seat. If the label is gone, measure the flush valve opening – most Toto toilets take a 2″ or 3″ valve, and that measurement gets us to the right part faster than any picture does.
Note: Sawyer Remodel San Antonio is an independent service provider. We’re not affiliated with Toto, but we’ve installed and repaired their fixtures across this city for years.

Signs Your Toto Bathroom Remodeling Is Failing
- The toilet runs for a few seconds every 20 minutes. That’s the flapper or flush valve seal leaking water from the tank into the bowl. It’s usually a $15 to $60 part, but left alone it wastes hundreds of gallons a month on a San Antonio water bill.
- The washlet seat gives lukewarm water instead of hot. The heating element or the inline filter is failing. San Antonio’s hard water deposits calcium on the heating coil, and once it’s scaled, the element burns out faster than it should.
- Water seeps around the base of the toilet. The wax ring or the Toto-specific Unifit adapter gasket has failed. If it’s a Unifit rough-in adapter, the gasket is a Toto-only part and a generic wax ring won’t fix it correctly.
- The tub spout diverter stops sending water to the showerhead. The internal gate inside the diverter has worn or the rubber seal has hardened from San Antonio’s mineral-heavy water. You’ll hear water running behind the wall when it happens.
- You smell sewer gas in the bathroom after a remodel. A vent wasn’t tied in correctly or a p-trap is dry. This is a bigger issue than a failing part – it means the remodel itself has a plumbing defect, and it needs a licensed eye on it fast.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

In San Antonio, a Toto bathroom remodel runs $9,000 to $28,000 installed. The spread comes down to scope. A simple fixture swap – toilet, vanity, faucet, and a new tub spout – lands near the bottom. A full gut with a walk-in shower, new tile, a Toto washlet, and moving plumbing lines lands near the top. Here’s the line-item picture:
- Toto toilet replacement (fixture and install): $600 – $2,500
- Toto washlet seat (upgrade or replacement): $500 – $2,000
- Tub-to-shower conversion with Toto fixtures: $3,500 – $10,000
- Full bathroom remodel with Toto fixtures: $9,000 – $28,000
- Single part repair (fill valve, flapper, seal, diverter): $180 – $450
Every quote includes parts, labor, haul-away of the old fixtures, and cleanup. The written price you approve is the price on the invoice – no change orders, no surprise line items. And every repair and remodel carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise: if it’s not done right, we make it right, in writing, for a full year after the job closes.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely check a few things yourself: lift the tank lid and see if the chain is tangled, confirm whether the fill valve is cracked, or listen at the base of the tub for water running behind the wall. Those observations help us diagnose faster when you call.
What you shouldn’t do is start pulling toilets off their mounts or opening walls to trace a plumbing leak. Water damage in a San Antonio slab foundation is expensive to fix, and a toilet that wasn’t set correctly leaks slowly into the subfloor for months before you see it. If it’s a washlet with an electrical issue, leave the seat plugged out and let a trained professional handle the wiring – water and current don’t mix well, and we’d rather arrive to a safe bathroom than an amateur electrical job.
If you’re not sure which camp your problem falls into, call (432) 547-6806 and describe what you’re seeing. We’ll tell you over the phone if it’s something you can handle or something we should come look at. No charge for the conversation.
FAQs

A Toto toilet installed correctly in San Antonio lasts 15 to 25 years, though the internal components – fill valves, flappers, seals – typically need replacement every 4 to 7 years because of our hard water. Washlet seats usually last 8 to 12 years before the heating element or pump gives out.
Most failing parts can be repaired. A fill valve, flapper, flush valve seal, tub spout diverter, or washlet filter is a single-part swap. The exceptions are a cracked toilet bowl or tank, and a tub with a rusted-through drain assembly – those are replacement situations, not repairs.
The timeline depends on scope. A fixture swap takes one day, usually done by early afternoon. A full bathroom remodel runs 2 to 4 weeks, with the price and the schedule in writing before we start. We’ll tell you the completion date before you sign, and we hit it.
Yes. Our San Antonio trucks carry Toto fill valves, flappers, flush valve seals, Unifit gaskets, spout diverters, and the common washlet filter cartridges. If your part isn’t on the truck, we can typically have it by the next day through our supplier network.
