Toto Roofing: The San Antonio Owner’s Guide
If you’ve got a Toto roof detail that’s failed or failing, here’s the short version: we stock Toto-compatible roofing parts, carry them on our trucks across San Antonio, and most replacements run between $400 and $1,800 installed depending on what’s actually wrong. Same-week scheduling is standard with us. The way most people find out something’s wrong is the same every time – a water stain shows up on the ceiling after a storm, or they spot a lifted edge from the driveway and it bugs them for three weeks until the next rain proves them right. You’re not looking for a lecture. You’re looking for the part, the price, and a crew that shows up. That’s what this page is for.

Note: Sawyer Remodel San Antonio is an independent service provider. We’re not affiliated with Toto, but we’ve installed and repaired enough of their roofing details to know exactly which parts match and which ones don’t.
Which Toto Models This Applies To

Toto’s roofing line in San Antonio splits into a few families, and the compatibility question is where most online advice falls apart. The parts we replace most often come off Toto’s architectural shingle profiles and their standing-seam metal edge kits. The older Toto asphalt series used a 5⅝-inch exposure; the newer architectural profiles moved to a 6-inch exposure. That half-inch changes which replacement shingle courses seal correctly, and it’s the single most common mismatch we fix after a homeowner guessed wrong on a big-box purchase.
If you’re not sure which series you have, check the back of any spare shingle or the inside of the roof edge drip metal. Toto stamps a two-digit series code on the back of most architectural shingles, usually near the nail line. No spare shingle? We can pull the code from the underlayment flap on the edge during a free inspection. For OEM versus aftermarket: Toto’s branded parts are fine, but in San Antonio’s heat, the aftermarket high-temp sealant strips on certain generic equivalents actually hold better on south-facing slopes. We’ll tell you which one makes sense for your roof’s orientation, not just which one has the nicer box.
We also keep parts on hand for KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone lines, but Toto roofing is its own discipline and we treat it that way.

Signs Your Toto Roofing Is Failing
- Lifted shingle corners on the south or west slope. San Antonio sun bakes the adhesive strip until it delaminates. You’ll see corners curling between February and June as temps climb. That’s adhesive failure, and it means water is already getting under the course.
- Granule loss collecting in the gutters. Toto’s asphalt line sheds granules as the top coat ages, and after a hail season here, you’ll see a visible pile in the downspout elbows. It’s not just cosmetic – once the granules go, UV eats the asphalt layer underneath.
- Water staining on the ceiling after a diagonal rain. San Antonio storms don’t hit roofs straight down. Diagonal wind-driven rain finds the nail holes and start gaps that vertical rain never touches. If the stain only appears after one storm direction, that’s a flashing or nail-line breach, not an old shingle problem.
- Dark streaks running down the slope that won’t wash off. That’s algae growth feeding on the organic mat in certain Toto shingle lines. It traps moisture against the mat and shortens the shingle’s life by years if left untreated.
- You can see daylight through the roof deck from the attic. Turn off the attic light and look up. If you see pinholes of light, the underlayment and the decking have been compromised. That’s past the point of a patch.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
For San Antonio Toto roofing work, the honest range is $400 to $1,800 installed. A simple section repair on one slope – replacing a handful of Toto shingles and resealing the nail lines – lands around $400 to $800. A full valley rebuild or edge flashing replacement with underlayment runs $1,200 to $1,800. What moves the number: roof pitch, whether we need to rent a lift or can work from ladders, and how much of the underlying decking has rot that needs replacing.

Every quote from us is a written line-item price before we start. That’s The Relay Standard and it’s been our way since 2005. You’ll see parts cost, labor hours, and any disposal fee itemized. No change orders unless you approve them first. The work is covered by our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if it’s not done right, we make it right, in writing, on every job. And if the repair fails within a year, the second visit is free. No argument.
DIY or Call Us?
Here’s the honest split. You can safely check the attic for light pinholes, clean your own gutters to see what’s washing off the roof, and take photos of the damaged area to send us. You should not climb a San Antonio roof in July to save a few hundred dollars. Steep slopes, brittle shingles that crack underfoot, and surfaces hot enough to burn skin through jeans – it’s not worth a fall. Also, pulling up Toto shingles without the right nail-line technique voids any remaining manufacturer life on the surrounding courses. That’s the part people don’t know until their “quick patch” becomes a full reslope. If you’ve got a failing Toto roof part, call us at (432) 547-6806. We’ll schedule a free inspection, show you photos of what’s actually wrong, and put the price in writing before anything gets touched.
FAQs

In San Antonio’s heat and hail cycles, Toto asphalt roofing parts typically last 12 to 18 years on the south and west slopes, and 18 to 25 years on the north and east. The brutal sun exposure is the lifespan killer here, not the rain. Call (432) 547-6806 if you want us to assess what’s left on yours – the inspection is free.
Yes, if the damage is contained to a section, a valley, or a line of shingles, a targeted repair runs $400 to $800 in San Antonio and extends the roof’s life by years. If you’ve got light through the decking or rot spreading, repair stops making sense. We’ll tell you which situation you’re in before quoting anything.
Most Toto roofing repairs in San Antonio are done in one day, four to six hours on site. Full section rebuilds with decking replacement can push into a second day. We’ll give you the timeline in writing before we schedule the crew.
Yes, we carry Toto-compatible roofing parts, sealants, and flashing on our service trucks, including the high-temp aftermarket options for south-facing San Antonio slopes. It means we can often complete the repair on the first visit instead of ordering and coming back.
